    1. An option to cancel out of using 2nd chance cards (i.e. Token of Admiration, etc.)

      Having another chance without using an action is nice, but some other storylets or cards require a certain number of these, it would be nice to be able to cancel out of using the 2nd chance and keep it for other parts of the game.

      • Add a Knife-and-Candle equivalent for Persuasive characters

        A battle of wits, like in pre-revolutionary France, using Persuasive as the primary stat, to allow non-Dangerous focused players to enjoy PvP.

          Developing a Connection with a group is fun and opens some nice opportunities, but it seems transient somehow - connections always seem to evaporate sooner or later as they are spent on opportunities and storylets. It would be nice to be able to reach a point where one's connections to a group are sufficient to gain some sort of permanent membership - perhaps signing up with the Constables or becoming a "made man" in the criminal fraternity could have the effect of preventing Connected scores from dropping below a particular level, or opening faction-specific content, or making it easier to… more

            • Can we have some guidance on which items may be more disposable than others?

              For instance, if something is only needed if you intend to play Knife and Candle, those of us who don't would know we could safely sell it to free up some Echoes - at the moment it's impossible to know what we're potentially going to kick ourselves for selling.
              I know in Beta stage this could be tricky as uses for things will be fairly fluid, plus of course it depends on how someone wants to play the game, but to have such information would also allow players a more informed choice of what to sell/buy.

                We’ve overhauled the economy in a big way. Among other things, most items have a tooltip that explains where you can get them. If you decide to sell something, you’ll usually know where to get a replacement.

              • Make tweeting for extra actions allowed once a day, rather than once every 24 hours

                It would be nice if the option to tweet for extra actions renewed at (say) midnight, rather than exactly every 24 hours. Currently if I play at 3pm one day and 2pm the next, for example, I can't get the extra actions on the second day.

                  I understand a part of the game is to interact with friends through twitter, but if you don't have many of those, or in my case none at all, it really hampers me to be stuck with those nightmares and have no way of reducing them.

                    We’ve added a great many more ways to reduce nightmares. Additionally, the Dreams penalty from going to the Place of Some Confusion has been dramatically reduced.

                  • Let players put together items in outfits

                    I know this is possible on Kingdom of Loathing and GaiaOnline, at least, so I assume it would be doable here: since players often use items to raise certain stats, let them group those items so they can switch between customized outfits more easily. I have items so I can raise any one of my stats by 5-10 points, but that means switching out something in every single equipable category--and then doing it all over again if, say, I wanted it for a high-risk Dangerous opportunity card but then needed to do a high-risk Shadowy card next.

                      • Allow people to use connections to defuse Menaces

                        It seems silly to me that I need to worry about Scandal when I have Connection: Society at 90+, or Suspicion when I have Connection: Constables at 40+, or Nightmares when I have Connection: The Church at 40+. Seems to me that just like I can use connections to get training, I could also use them to alleviate menaces. i.e. I could go to my Society friends and get them to quash rumours, or help out the Constables to quash suspicion, or go to confession at church to alleviate nightmares. Of course there should be a cost in the connection.

                          Could they be listed along the left under the four Base stats, maybe in a compacted form?
                          - They seem like vital information that impacts player decision-making on a click-by-click basis.
                          - I find myself constantly flitting back to the "Me" tab to check whenever I want to try an action or opourtunity card that might increase my menaces. - This takes a lot of loading and some scrolling to find the correct set of qualities.

                          • Keep opportunity cards in fixed places in my hand

                            I've several times accidentally discarded an opportunity card that I did not intend to discard because the placement of card in my hand changed. A new card comes in, I examine it, and decide Perhaps Not, and wish to discard it. Once back in the page with my hand visible, I clicked on discard below the slot of the card that I had just examined on to realize (too late!) that instead of the card that I had just examined and wish to discard, some other card that I intended to keep now occupied that slot and was discarded instead.… more

                              I've changed lodgings a few times, and other than the knife and candle defence bonus, it doesn't seem to make a difference to the story. (Probably less so because I haven't got the hang of knife and candle at all yet...). The rats come with me too. Is there any chance that each lodging could bring a fresh storylet or two?                               • Manipulating the bazaar

                                The gentlemen of the bazaar are enigmatic and inhuman (in the nicest possible way, of course) figures. Yet, surely, those with a silvery tongue could attempt to negotiate better prices, those with quicksilver fingers should always be alert to the possibility of moving stock into their possession without a bill of sale, &c &c.

                                Of course, the bazaar is known to frown on the attempts of humans to thwart its inconceivable whims, and punishes failure heavily.

                                (In other words, quality checks could get bonuses on the bazaar screen appropriate to the quality used.)

                                • Have the 1-penny currencies have a slightly variable value. It is a bazaar, after all!

                                  Having all of these different currencies that are worth the same amount feels kinda... not pointless, but dull? In a bazaar, it makes complete sense for different goods to be worth different amounts on different days, depending on demand.

                                    I'm sure some of us would enjoy the opportunity to explore a different archetype, or restart a character to pick up on something we missed. Yes we can set up multiple twitter accounts, but it would be much simpler to have several characters linked to a single account..

                                      It is quite awkward that whenever I complete an action and then return to the story page, I don't get a single "Go" button on the screen. This means that every single time I want to do something, I have to scroll, even if it's the "do this again" link. This is mainly because roughly half of my screen is taken up with the banner.

                                      Could you consider where it might be appropriate (particularly AJAX pages) to put in something like an anchor link so that the page can return to where we were before we clicked on the link?… more

                                        When all your stats are low, and you have few resources, an overwhelming majority of the Opportunity cards are well out of your reach. Particularly the moving house ones.

                                        It's good to have something to aim for, but it does feel overwhelming and a little dispiriting at first, and you have to discard an awful lot of stuff to get to anything you might reasonably use.

                                        Maybe just filter out some of the more expensive ones (not all), and upweight the lower cost, more beginner-friendly Opportunities, at least at first?

                                        • Reconsider the one Constant Companion model

                                          From the looks of it, pursuing one Constant Companion locks out the rest -- which makes sense in a monamorous living arrangement. But as open as the Neath is to bisexuality, why not polyamory? Why not straight-out infidelity, for the less-than-decent among us? Perhaps only one companion should be 'equipped' at a time, but some exploration would be appreciated!

                                          • add more multiplayer storylets, and add storylets that allow more than one friend to join in.

                                            Basically, make parties of maybe up to four, and long storylets that take advantage of the different stats of each person.
